I used to think that ‘device’ cozies were a little bit frivolous. You know – something fun you made because you wanted to make it, not because it was necessary. I did think that, right up until the day I got my first tablet. It was immediately apparent that I didn’t have anywhere to keep it that would offer it the protection that it obviously needed. The solution was one that many others have hit upon before me: a handmade cover.

Materials:
- Any non-abrasive yarn, in both solid and vareigated colorways (Shown in Red Heart Super Saver, Black and Mexicana)
- A compatible crochet hook (I/9 5.50mm hook used for these)
- Yarn Needle
- Button (optional)
Gauge: Gauge is not significant in this design.
Directions:
With MC and leaving a long tail of yarn (double the width of your device recommended), ch any even number sufficient to encircle your device. Join to form rnd.
Rnd 1: Ch 1; sc in each ch around. Switch to CC. (Keep MC attached now and throughout, and carry up inside of ring.
Rnd 2: Ch 1. *Sc in 1st st, ch 1, sk 1 st. Repeat from * around, join rnd. Switch to MC. (Keep CC attached now and throughout, carry up inside of ring.)
Rnd 3: Ch 2, sk 1st sc, sc in ch-sp from previous row. *Ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch-sp. Repeat from * around, join rnd in 1st ch of ch-2.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in ch-sp from previous row. Ch 1, sk 1 sc. *Sc in next ch-sp, ch 1, sk 1 sc. Repeat from * around; join rnd. Switch to CC.
Rnd 5: Ch 2, sk 1st sc, sc in ch-sp from previous row. *Ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch-sp. Repeat from * around, join rnd in 1st ch of ch-2. Switch to MC.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in ch-sp from previous row. Ch 1, sk 1 sc. *Sc in next ch-sp, ch 1, sk 1 sc. Repeat from * around; join rnd.
Rnd 7: Ch 2, sk 1st sc, sc in ch-sp from previous row. *Ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch-sp. Repeat from * around, join rnd in 1st ch of ch-2. Switch to CC.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in ch-sp from previous row. Ch 1, sk 1 sc. *Sc in next ch-sp, ch 1, sk 1 sc. Repeat from * around; join rnd. Switch to MC.
Rnd 9: Ch 2, sk 1st sc, sc in ch-sp from previous row. *Ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch-sp. Repeat from * around, join rnd in 1st ch of ch-2 Switch to CC.
Repeat Rnds 4-9 for patt until cover reaches desired length.
Make one more round with MC: Ch 1, sc in each sc and ch-sp around; join rnd. Finish off.
Finishing: Using long tail, whipstitch Rnd 1 closed across.
Button Loop (optional): Attach MC at center of top edge. Make a ch long enough to loop around button in desired placement, sl st in same spot as join. Finish off Weave in ends. Sew button to corresponding place.
