Difficulty: Intermediate

Nothing says ‘Winter’ like a warm, cozy shawl, but there’s no reason it needs to be plain. The points in the design are reminiscent of the petals of a flower and the greater than a semi-circle shape lends itself well to wrapping, making it a great way to brighten up your winter wardrobe!

Size: Custom

Materials:

  • Anonymous worsted weight wool, about 400 yds
  • I/9 (5.50mm size) hook
  • Removable stitch markers (optional)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Pins for blocking

Gauge: Gauge is not significant in this design. Just choose a combination of hook and yarn that you like!

Special Stitches

2D – Work a double decrease over three stitches, but skip the middle stitch. Yarn over, insert hook in next st, pull through, yarn over and pull through two loops (two loops on hook), yarn over and skip the next stitch and work in the stitch that follows, yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch, pull through, yarn over and pull through two loops (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all three remaining loops.

DC3together – double crochet the next 3 stitches together

V-st – Dc, ch 2, dc in indicated stitch or space

  1. This is beautiful and I will definitely try to do it. I say “try” because there is no chart and I am not sure of my ability to read the instructions. Thank you for sharing the pattern!

  2. Please tell me how to print only the one picture of the shawl and also the diections without everything else as I crochet shawls for our local breast cancer center. This shawl would be a lovely one for these ladies.

    Thanks, Jane

    • Hi, Jane. Using the system dialog (the “print” on your web browser) will remove most of the extras automatically, however if you specifically want ONLY the directions and one picture, I recommend copying and pasting into a Word document to print it out.

      Hope this helps!

  3. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! I just shared on FB and I want to make one for myself and every lady I know!!! This is the most fantastic looking shawl/wrap I have EVER seen, EVER!!!!!! Note my extreme excitement!!!

  4. The pattern that i just saw was out of this world i mean it takes a lot of creativity to make something like that,of course i its all baby steps BUT THIS DESIGN IS CRAZY COOL!

  5. Beautiful shawl!
Has the pattern been reduced to a diagram? I find using a diagram much simpler than the written instructions.

  6. Hi Cheri,

  8. I just love this pattern. It prompted me to pick up crochet hook and get started on one of my own. If it comes out looking anything like yours I plan to make some for presents for family and friends.
Keep up the good work. You have real talent.
And thank you for your generosity in giving us this pattern.

  9. Thanks for sharing ! you can now proudly say that in France, a homeless baby girl born 3 weeks ago is a little warmer thanks to your pattern (her name is Anna Maria !). I did it in light pink, of course…
