I don’t know about you, but I can’t remember the last time that I actually used a coaster because I wanted to protect my furniture. To me, they’re much more fun as a way to bring some color and whimsy to the table – literally! These Sunny Days Coasters just scream “summertime,” with cheery yellow suns in the middle of bright blue sky. I just love them! Take a few minutes to whip some up: I bet you’ll love them, too.

Finished Measurements: 5″ diameter
Materials:
- Peaches & Creme [100% Cotton, 120 yds/109m per 70.9g/2.5oz skein]; less than 15 yds each of Sunshine and Bright Blue
- I/9 (5.5mm size) hook
Gauge: Gauge is not significant in this design
Directions:
Rnd 1: With Sunshine, make a magic loop. Make 6 sc in loop; pull tight. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: [Sc inc] in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: [Sc inc, sc in next sc] around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: [Sc inc, sc in each of the next 2 sc] around. (24 sc) Join rnd.
Rnd 5: *Sl st, [dc, tr] in next st, ch 1, [tr, dc] in next st. Repeat from * around. (8 points made.) Join rnd, switch to Bright Blue.
Rnd 6: Ch 2. *Dc in sl st, hdc in dc, sc in tr, ch 1, sk ch, sc in tr, hdc in dc. Repeat from * around, join rnd.
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join rnd, fasten off. Weave in all ends.
Finishing: Weave in all ends.
