A classic windowpane scarf with bordered edges, Red Sky at Night is quick to work up and easy to wear, which makes it a great choice for gift giving.
Difficulty: Beginner
Sizes: As written, measures approx. 60″ long x 6″ wide
Materials:
- Caron Simply Soft Paints [100% acrylic, 208 yds/190m to 4oz/113.4g skein] 1 skein; color: Sunset
- K/10 1/2 (6.50mm) hook
- Yarn Needle
Gauge: 10 sts/5 rows = 4″ in dc
Directions:
Row 1: Ch 18. Sk 2 ch, dc in each ch across. (16 dc) Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as dc now and throughout); dc in next st and each across. (16 dc) Turn.
Row 3: Ch 2; dc in each of the next 2 dc. *Ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next st. Repeat from * until 3 sts remain, dc in last 3 sts. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 2; dc in each of the next 2 dc. *Ch 1, dc in ch-sp of previous row. Repeat from * across until no ch-sp remain, dc in last 3 sts. Turn.
Repeat Row 4 until about 2″ short of desired length.
Ending: Ch 2; dc in each dc and ch-sp across. Turn, ch 2. Dc in each st across. Finish off.
