While thinking of cooler months ahead, in the midst of these hot summer days, I wanted to design a little something warm for my new niece that lives in North Dakota. This hat and thumbless mitts are what evolved.

Mitts: Newborn/3 Months [3/6 months] (shown in size Newborn/3 months)
Finished Measurements:
Hat: Diameter: 14 [16, 18, 20]inches
Height: 5 ½ [6, 7, 8] inches
Mitts: 4.5 x 5 (6.5) inch

- [CC] Red Heart Super Saver [100% Acrylic; 364 yd/333 m per 198 g skein]; color: Aran; 1 [1, 1, 1] skeins

Special Stitches:
Reverse Single Crochet (rsc): Working from left to right (opposite for left handers), insert hook in stitch to the right of hook, pull up a loop, under and to the left of loop on hook (2 loops on hook), yo, draw through both loops on hook to complete the stitch.
